The Bolt Studios Logo
Two simplistic arrows represent the 2 extreme possibilities which I look at in every design. The 2 shapes combine together to create an icon: the symbol of power. A encircling element symbolizes the coming together of both the Client and my concepts while having it left open allows for external influences. Llike the thunderbolt which touches both heaven and earth, the same can be said that the client's ideas are intangible, a part of Heaven and it is my objective to ground that idea into a tangible execution.

I proudly graduated from OCADU (Ontario College of Art & Design now a University) with a degree in Graphic Design. Many of my works displayed on this page are still being used by their respective companies, I hope that copyrights are respected from other members of DA.

*UPDATE I would like to ask that everyone please respect my hard work and not "download and edit" for their personal use. I do not find it complimenting when someone steals my work in whole or in part. I apologize for sounding pretentious but if anyone can just go online and steal work it really ruins the economy for future designers and devalues our worth in society.

Thank you for checking out my stuff!
I'm currently in Hong Kong as an art director at Pegasus Interactive, sub branch of UCAN Group Ltd. (Culturecom Ltd. HK343)

Right Left Unorthodox Export Solutions
A simple concept with the Chinese words Left 左 and Right 右 I wanted to play with.
At the same time the words inside the words 口工 is a simplified representation of Exporting.

The idea came about when I was looking for symmetrical Chinese logotypes and I saw that many Chinese words with opposite meanings are mirror images or variations of each other. I am always inspired by seeing really bad logo or branding designs while browsing through the "yellow pages". After recently having to deal with a horrible shipping service (from China to Canada) I just decided to play around a little. They claimed to have unorthodox methods of getting my old luggage out of the country without substantial taxation... and when those events unfolded I began drafting this concept.

I could have increased the logotype to be more dynamic in the future and reflect more of the nature of the logistics business. Feel free to comment and critique!
PURE Chinese BaiJiu Proposal

Baijiu 白酒, also known as Shaojiu 燒酒, is a Chinese alcoholic beverage sometimes translated as "white wine" or "rice wine", but it is in fact a strong distilled spirit, generally about 40–60% alcohol by volume (ABV). It may appear similar to several other Asian liquors, but generally has a significantly higher alcohol content than, for example Japanese shōchū (25%) or Korean soju (20–45%). It is often compared to vodka in strength and feel.

[純 PURE.] aims to introduce Baijiu to a younger and updated generation with its minimalist and direct modern brand identity, while competing with major competitors like Skyy and Absolut vodka at night clubs and other social events.

Baijiu itself is a very popular drink heavily embedded within social cultures; seen commonly during friendly gatherings, business dinners and even expensive gifts as opposed to the more common wines in Western cultures. The most popular examples of Baiju, like Kweichow and Niulanshan, are arguably aimed at older demographics with the heavy handed usage of symbolism like golden dragons, white sakura blossoms and vase-like bottles, the design instill a sense of culture and traditional for their target demographic. While packaging most commonly seen at supermarkets or convenience stores include the use of PVC bottles at price points ranging from $5.00 - $20.00 RMB (Est. $4.00 USD) aiming to sell quantity over quality.

The [純 PURE.] identity comes from the most common descriptions of BaiJiu, often describing the liquor with it's “purity” and “smoothness”. With this in mind a very minimalist approach was used for the design, foregoing most of it's overused cultural cues while maintaining the boldness of it's original aesthetics.
